Tonight's rehearsal was a good experience.
BLUES: Blues has been a continuing evolution for me. When I started, I just tried to rhyme. I remember my last line was, "I'm the twelfth apostle." The response from my leader was, "Huh?" So, I started to work in audience suggestions. But they were plain. So, trying to actually use my life's experiences in the song might be the next step to really sing like I mean it (i.e. using a personal tragedy as a possible way to avoid having to do something unpleasant at work).
SONG TITLES/MUSICAL CHAIRS: Singing like a crazy person (or using my RASPUTIN-EYES as I sometimes say) isn't too difficult. It's a character for me. I'm still trying to figure out how to be comfort when I'm on stage. The singing isn't so scary; it's really the movement which doesn't seem natural. When I drink, I start to dance. Sometimes I imagine how I might be more animated if I was drunk and performing. However, that's not the solution. I need to (a) learn how to incorporate space work/objects/physicality and (b) figure out the movement that I might want to use.
Jason mentioned Duets, which I would really like us to explore. MAN sings, WOMAN sings, MAN & WOMAN sings!

As far as duets go... why not two dudes?!?!? I'd like to see Mookie and Adam do a Hall & Oates tribute. Jason and Kevin have kind of an "Air Supply" thing going on between them, I don't wanna mess that up. That leaves me with the ladies... oh, yeah... I'm thinking something like the B52's meets Tony Orlando & Dawn.
I would love both of those. Tim, you just tickled my Hall & Oates. That's my nickname for my man-nips.
